President's Supplemental Report
The Board of Trustees (BOT) continues to strengthen ties with the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM) as part of an initiative to reach out to hiring decision makers. The BOT also allocated funds for a survey to members in Louisiana to gauge interest in forming a state society.
Special Recognition
AAMA Past President Elvera Fischer, RN, CMA-C (AAMA),
was specially honored. It was announced that she is publishing her memoir, Sentimental Journey, which includes recollections
of her career as a medical assistant.
A state society charter was presented to Oklahoma and a replacement charter
to Arkansas.
